Read your recordings, notes, and transcripts from inside the ChatGPT desktop app, Codex, or WorkBuddy. Read-only, no API key.

Server URL — no trailing slash https://mcp.recolx.ai/mcp

Streamable HTTP only; sign in with your Recolx account when the browser opens.

ChatGPT desktop app

  1. Settings → MCP servers → Add server.
  2. Name it Recolx, choose Streamable HTTP, paste the URL.
  3. Save, then select Restart.
  4. Select Authenticate and finish the browser sign-in. /mcp in the composer shows it.

The desktop app uses the same Codex configuration, so a server added here also works in Codex. The web app is different: it reaches MCP servers through Plugins, and custom connections there depend on your plan.

1. Add the custom MCP server. The example below shows the Recolx server URL and OAuth authentication.

2. Confirm the connection. Review the information shown in the Connect recolx dialog before continuing.

Codex

Add to ~/.codex/config.toml:

Then run codex mcp login recolx and finish in the browser. In the Codex TUI, /mcp lists what is connected. The Codex CLI and the IDE extension share this file.

WorkBuddy

  1. Settings → MCP → Add MCP Server.
  2. Paste the URL, complete the OAuth prompt.
  3. Enable the server and its tools in the conversation.

WorkBuddy keeps the session and refreshes the token for you.

What the assistant can read

Confirm the account
Display name, membership, remaining transcription time
List recordings
Title, date, duration, size, file ID; optional title and date search
Open one recording
The same details plus a private audio link, valid 24 hours
Read the notes
Summaries the app already generated
Read the transcript
Speaker and language labels, 50 lines at a time

Dates are YYYY-MM-DD calendar days and include both ends. A search scans up to 500 recordings. Nothing is writable: the assistant cannot rename, delete, upload, or start a transcription, and it never sees an API key. Reads need an active trial, Pro, or Unlimited membership; Free accounts sign in but are refused.

If it does not connect

Sign-in never opens
No trailing slash; pick Streamable HTTP, not SSE
ChatGPT desktop: no tools after adding
Select Restart, then Authenticate
Asked to sign in again, or always asked to upgrade
Sign in again and never paste a token; confirm the plan in the app
