You can play your RecolX Tap recordings in the RecolX app or on the web platform, export them as MP3 files, or enable WAV recording to access playable files directly from your device.
Why won’t recordings play directly on my computer?
By default, RecolX Tap recordings are stored on the device in an encrypted SBC format. Files copied directly from the device’s storage may therefore not play in Windows Media Player or other standard media players.
Option 1: Play or export recordings using the app or web platform
To listen to your recordings, use either of the following:
- The RecolX mobile app
- The RecolX web platform
To play recordings on your computer using a standard media player, export them as MP3 files from the app or web platform.
Option 2: Enable WAV files for future recordings
If you want to access playable recording files directly from your RecolX Tap via USB, enable the option to generate WAV files:
- Connect your RecolX Tap to the RecolX app.
- Tap the device icon to open the device details page.
- Enable Generate WAV files simultaneously.
Once this option is enabled, your device will create an additional WAV file for each new recording. You can access these files by connecting your device to your computer via USB and play them using Windows Media Player or another media player that supports WAV files.
Note: This setting applies only to future recordings. It does not create WAV files for existing recordings. To play or export existing recordings, use the RecolX app or web platform.
