Use this guide to set up, record, sync, and manage files with the RECOLX M1 AI Voice Recorder.
Before you begin
- Charge the recorder before first use.
- Install the RECOLX app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Pair the recorder inside the RECOLX app. Do not pair it from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

Quick start
- Charge the recorder. Connect the magnetic charging cable to a 5 V / 1 A USB power source. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours.
- Turn on the recorder. Short press the Power/Recording button.
- Install the app. Search for RECOLX in the App Store or Google Play.
- Pair the recorder. Open the app, sign in, turn on Bluetooth, tap + Add Device, and select your recorder.
- Select a recording mode. Slide the mode switch up for call recording or down for environmental recording.
- Start recording. Press and hold the Power/Recording button for 3 seconds. The recorder vibrates once when recording starts.
- Stop and save. Press and hold the button again for 3 seconds, or tap Stop in the app.

The M1 includes the following controls and components:

Display status

Basic operation
Turn the recorder on
Short press the Power/Recording button. The recorder turns on after the startup screen appears.
Automatic power-off
In standby mode, the recorder powers off automatically after 5 minutes by default. You can change the idle auto-shutdown time in the device settings.
Start or stop recording
- In standby mode, press and hold the Power/Recording button for 3 seconds.
- The recorder vibrates once and begins recording.
- Press and hold the button again for 3 seconds to stop and save the recording.
Check the battery level while recording
Short press the Power/Recording button three times.
Restart an unresponsive recorder
Press and hold the Power/Recording button for 8 seconds.
Charge the recorder
- Connect the magnetic cable to the recorder.
- Connect the USB end to a certified USB charger or computer.
- For best performance, use a 5 V / 1 A adapter.
The battery icon pulses while charging and remains full when charging is complete.
Recording modes
Call recording mode
Use this mode to record phone calls.
- Slide the recording mode switch up.
- Attach the recorder securely to the back of the phone.
- Start recording.
- Confirm that the call recording icon appears on the display.
Environmental recording mode
Use this mode for meetings, interviews, classes, and everyday voice recording.
- Slide the recording mode switch down.
- Start recording.
- Confirm that the environmental recording icon appears on the display.
Connect the recorder to the RECOLX app
- Turn on the recorder.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
- Open the RECOLX app and sign in.
- Tap + Add Device.
- Select your M1 recorder and follow the on-screen instructions.
- When pairing is complete, the app displays Connected.
Start recording from the app
Tap Record in the app. The app and recorder start recording together.
Start recording from the recorder
Press and hold the Power/Recording button for 3 seconds. When the recorder is connected, the app also enters the recording state.
Stop recording
Press and hold the Power/Recording button again, or tap Stop in the app.
Sync recordings
Bluetooth transfer
- Reconnect the recorder to the RECOLX app.
- The app automatically detects recordings stored on the recorder.
- Tap Start Sync.
Wi-Fi fast transfer
Wi-Fi transfer is recommended for large recordings or when you want faster syncing.
- Open the transfer screen.
- Select Wi-Fi Transfer, or tap the Wi-Fi icon on the transfer bar.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Tap Start Sync.
Play, edit, translate, share, and export
Play and organize recordings
- Open a recording and tap Play to listen.
- Use the file list to view, manage, and organize recordings.
Edit a transcript
- Open a saved transcript.
- Tap the ... menu in the upper-right corner.
- Select Edit.
- Modify the transcript and save your changes.
Translate a transcript
- Open the transcript.
- Tap the ... menu.
- Select Translate.
- Choose a target language and start the translation.
Share a file
- Open a recording.
- Tap the Share icon in the upper-right corner.
- Choose the content you want to share: recording, transcript, summary, or mind map.
- Share it using a link.
Export a file
- Open a recording.
- Tap Export.
- Select the recording, transcript, summary, or mind map.
- Save the selected content to your device.
Delete files
- Delete one file: Select the file, then tap Delete.
- Delete multiple files: Tap Batch Select, choose the files, then tap Delete.
Device settings
Open Connected Device in the app to view the recorder's battery level, storage usage, firmware version, and serial number (SN).

| Delete from device after syncing to phone | Automatically removes synced recordings from the recorder. |
| USB data transfer | Enables or disables USB data transfer. |
| Generate WAV audio | Creates original WAV-format audio files during recording. |
| Recording screen saver | Sets how long the screen remains active during recording. |
| Auto-shutdown when idle | Sets how long the recorder waits before powering off in standby. |
Unbind or format the recorder
Unbind the recorder
- Open Connected Device.
- Tap Unbind.
- Choose whether to keep or delete files stored on the recorder.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
Format the recorder
Open Connected Device and select the format option.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to do |

| The recorder does not appear in the app | Make sure the recorder is on and Bluetooth is enabled. Pair from + Add Device in the RECOLX app, not from the phone's Bluetooth settings. Restart the app and recorder if needed. |
| The recorder is frozen or unresponsive | Press and hold the Power/Recording button for 8 seconds to restart it. |
| Call recording is unclear | Confirm that call recording mode is selected, attach the recorder to the back of the phone, and turn the phone's call volume up to maximum. |
| File transfer is slow | Use Wi-Fi fast transfer for large files. |
| The recorder does not charge normally | Reconnect the magnetic cable and use a certified 5 V / 1 A power adapter. Stop using the device if it becomes damaged, swollen, overheated, leaks, or produces an unusual smell. |

Safety and warranty
Safety information
- Use the recorder between 0°C and 35°C (32°F to 95°F). Store it between -20°C and 45°C (-4°F to 113°F).
- Keep the recorder away from fire, direct sunlight, heaters, ovens, and other heat sources.
- Do not disassemble, puncture, crush, or replace the built-in battery yourself.
- Disconnect the charging cable when charging is complete. Use certified charging accessories that meet local safety standards.
- The recorder is not waterproof. Keep it away from water, rain, splashes, and humid environments.
- Stop using the recorder if it is damaged, overheated, swollen, leaking, or produces an unusual smell.
- Keep the recorder and small accessories away from children and pets.
- Follow all applicable laws and obtain consent when legally required before recording conversations.
Battery warning
Do not expose the battery or recorder to fire, direct sunlight, or other high-temperature environments. The built-in battery must only be serviced or replaced by qualified personnel.
Limited warranty
The product includes a limited 12-month warranty from the purchase date. For manufacturing defects under normal use, RECOLX may provide repair, replacement, or other after-sales support based on the condition of the product.
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, accidents, unauthorized repair, modification, or disassembly.
- Damage caused by water, liquids, fire, excessive heat, or improper charging.
- Normal wear, scratches, cosmetic damage, or accessory aging.
- Damage caused by use that does not follow this guide.
- Products without valid proof of purchase or with altered or missing serial numbers.
To request warranty service, contact the seller or RECOLX Support and provide proof of purchase. This limited warranty does not affect statutory consumer rights that may apply in your country or region.

- This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
